Trevor Goodwin presents a show of watercolours inspired by tattoo art. Born a Shelburner, Trevor has lived and worked his art in Toronto, and he’s returned to his hometown for inspiration. To read his full artist statement, go to the Gallery page of this website.

April 28, 8pm – Allan Crosby Debut CD Release!

Lockeport native singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Allan Crosby, will release his stunning full-length debut album at the Osprey with a must-see release show.

Recorded at HarbourTone Productions in Shelburne, Crosby’s debut album showcases his penchant for energetic, toe-tapping songs and his diversity in musical styles.

The concert will feature Allan performing solo and with a variety of local musicians.

This group of 24 young singers is breaking new ground in the choral performance practices of their region and is fast gaining national attention. Xara brings audiences innovative, exciting performances that draw on a strong narrative, movement, and lighting in addition to challenging choral repertoire. Since their first concert in 2008, Xara has performed to sold-out halls of up to 500 people and has received heart-warming critical acclaim.

Xara will perform “Wail: Songs of the Brier Island Siren.” Amidst the throws of the Fundy tide wanders the mythical Atlantic Siren, part woman, part bird. Her lonely song has lured generations of sailors to wreck their ships on Brier Island’s shores. This full-length piece of choral theatre imagines the life of this sad, beautiful creature and the relationship between Siren and sailor.

May 12, 8 pm – Comedian, Lorne Elliott

“I was born so far back I can hardly remember,” says comedian, Lorne Elliott. ”I started going on stage at a time when hair like mine was fashionable, and I hung a guitar around my neck to complete the look. Somewhere around that time people started laughing at me, and I saw no reason why I shouldn’t join them.”

A very special show of comedy and music, totally original, entertaining, up-lifting and foolish enough to make everybody laugh. Along with his unique and wacky performance style, it is the timelessness of his material, joined with keen observations of today’s trends that make LORNE ELLIOTT’s work so special.

The annual all youth music show at the Osprey features a program of solo and group acts, all by the students of Shelburne County. The show is produced, performed and even promoted by students.

April 14, 8 pm – Spinney Brothers with Hupman Brothers

The Spinney Brothers are Allan Spinney , Rick Spinney, Gary Dalrymple and Darryl Hebb. Brothers Allan and Rick debuted their band in 1992, showcasing a tight brother duet vocal style that was immediately recognized for it’s energetic and distinctive sound. The cornerstone of the Spinney Brothers musical identity is the sound of traditional, southern-flavoured bluegrass music.

Sounds a lot like the Hupman Brothers… except for the Bluegrass part. Well, the Brothers Hupman will be going blue when they join the Brothers Spinney for this concert, and the guitars strings — and banjo, bass, mandolin strings — will be blazing.

A warm, easy performer, David Myles brings his audiences to their feet wherever he plays. His unabashed joy at being on stage is infectious and his musicianship is superb. Add his tendency to regale his audiences with humorous anecdotes, and it comes as no surprise that David is an instant hit with live audiences around the world. A multiple ECMA winner, David won the Great American Song Contest in 2009 with his hit single, “When It Comes My Turn.”
